October 23, 201510 yr Imagine a doomsday scenario where there is only 1 team thats undefeated and maybe another team with 1 loss. These 2 teams are locks for the playoff. But every other team has 2 losses or 1 recent loss that looks really bad. Is there any scenario in which an undefeated team from the AAC gets in the playoff? They have 3 undefeated teams right now which means there are pretty good odds that at least one of them will be undefeated at the end of the season. Any way one of them gets in the playoff? I say absolutely no way the committee would put them in over a 2 loss team from the SEC West, a Pac-12 or B1G winner with 2 losses. I think they would put them in over a 2 loss Big 12 team though. But curious as to what other think. With the parity that exists in college football, I think if a doomsday scenario were to happen, it would be this year.
October 23, 201510 yr I don't think it's very likely as I don't think many of the major conference champions will have more than one loss. It's a tough sell. Houston is the one I see as the class of the league right now although Memphis is of course playing extremely well. Even if they go unbeaten, I just don't see it happening. Not with an actual voting committee calling the shots nowadays.
October 23, 201510 yr Houston is as good as any team in the country. No, no they're not. Not a one of their 6 opponents thus far has a record over .500...The six are a combined 11-25.
October 23, 201510 yr Houston is as good as any team in the country. Yeah that might be a bridge too far. I believe they're talented and well coached -- a top 25 team to be sure. I don't think they're a genuine top five team.
October 23, 201510 yr No, no they're not. Yes, they are. And have a coach that's been there. They won't make the Final 4, but I hope they get to embarrass an SEC team in their bowl game.

Right, because beating a bunch of horrible football teams is what it takes to prove yourself as one of the best... Outside of the fact that an Ohio State guy is the HC, what do you base this off of?

Because I've watched then and formed an opinion? LSU has beaten a bunch of scrubs too. Are they a F4 contender? Why? Because they look to be the best team in a bad conference? Ohio State has beaten nobody, same story. When Houston beats Temple and Memphis they will have a very good resume.

Aside from the fact that LSU has beaten 2-3 teams that are better than anyone on Houston's entire schedule? You're more than entitled to think Houston is the one of the best teams in the country. Not a soul will agree with you, but more power to you.
October 23, 201510 yr Houston is as good as any team in the country. Yeah and my comments are over the top. lol.

Florida, who struggled with a mid tier AAC team? Miss St? Or is it Eastern Michigan?
October 23, 201510 yr Yeah and my comments are over the top. lol.[/quote Admitting it is the first step in recovery. Glad to see that.

Memphis already embarrassed an SEC team. The "baggage" that comes with an SEC athlete is showing on the field on a regular basis. Maybe those guys need to consider something other than athleticism when they recruit?
October 23, 201510 yr Ohio State and Michigan State will both go to the Final Four. Something like this will have to happen in order for there to be an uproar to expand the playoff system from 4 to 8 teams.
