Something like this will have to happen in order for there to be an uproar to expand the playoff system from 4 to 8 teams. Actually, all that would need to happen is for there to be no SEC team in the final four. Doesn't matter what conference the four come from.

Doesn't matter what conference the four come from. 2 Power Five Conferences would be without a team in the Final Four if 2 teams made it from the same conference. Need 8 teams. 5 conference champions and 3 wildcards. This way the committee is only voting on the 3 best teams not to have won its conference.
October 24, 201510 yr Author I don't think it's even remotely a possibility. I think even with 8 teams a committee would put a good 2 loss team from a power 5 in over an undefeated team from AAC. It's never going to happen, but just imagine, we have been talking about a playoff forever and in the second year of the playoff Memphis gets in.
