I picked the Cards in 3. They win it in 2. However, I did pick that this game would be MUCH closer than the 9-0 score from the 1st game.

Philpot gets the win for South Laurel going 6 innings and giving up 3 runs while Riley gets the save. Terry Bingham had a big ground rule double in the 5th inning and Kuhl knocks in the winning run after Powell Co. intentionally walked Cochis, loading the bases with one out in the bottom of the 5th.

Much better game than the first game. South Laurel got the hits when they needed them. Powell tied it at 3 in the fifth, but South picked up a run in the bottom of the fifth. Philpot kept the Powell hitters off balance for South and Brewer was solid on the mound for Powell. Good Luck South Laurel at Applebee's. Great season comes to an end for Powell.

Both teams had great seasons and should be proud. Powell goes out with a 14th regional championship under their belt and South wins the 13th in their first season in the region and advances to Applebees. Both teams should be very proud of what they have accomplished!

See you guy's in lexington. I definitally think the card's have what it takes to get to the final game if not win it all. South beat Lex. Catholic earlier in the season, but this will be a VERY though challenge to over come. GL CARDS BRING IT HOME

I know that Jeremy Brown is the new head coach, but wasn't Coach Harris (Opie) an assistant under GJ & possibly Scott Gaines?

Sounds like the 2nd game was a dandy matchup. Wish I could have been there to see it, but was at another ballfield watching one of my kids play.

Wynn Harris just came onboard this year. Good coach; helped with the Somerset Twins last year.
