October 4, 201511 yr If your definition of "better" is always whoever prevails, then sure. Not always the case. Upsets do happen. I thought going in Clemson was the better team.
October 4, 201511 yr Not always the case. Upsets do happen. I thought going in Clemson was the better team. Then what was handed to they should have won by 20+ points. That was a classic jump out to a lead and hold on for dear life type game. Conditions were brutal. You also have to question Kelly going for 2 earlier in the 4th.
October 4, 201511 yr ND was the better team. IMO, coaching cost them this game. They were way to predictable on offense the first qtr and half. Not sure it was a good idea to go for two after ND's first TD (debatable). The final 2pt attempt play call was horrible. Also ND is not a very good tackling team. Turnovers were killer. With that being said, they still had a chance to take it to OT and if they would have cut the turnovers in half, they probably would have won by 10 or more. Kizer is a player! Clemson looks like a cool place to see a game. Really cool how the team enters the stadium although I was scared to death that one of them would twist an ankle running down that hill. Hopefully the Irish can win out and get back in the playoff picture.
October 4, 201511 yr I loved this one, especially for Dabo Sweeny. Dabo is a class act and deserves to be considered as one of the better coaches in the country. Outside of Ohio State who is y favorite team, I am really rooting for Clemson to make the playoffs. Clemson is "who I thought they were" this season ...imo are a legit contender for the NC Playoff and I hope they can win out and make it.
October 4, 201511 yr For all the talk about Kelly being an offensive genius, his play calling leaves much to be desired sometimes. Agreed, Kelly was to me anyway outcoached. Actually imo the man is one of the more overrated coaches (along with one of the most arrogant) coaches in the country.
October 5, 201511 yr Agreed, Kelly was to me anyway outcoached. Actually imo the man is one of the more overrated coaches (along with one of the most arrogant) coaches in the country. His run game stinks. He is pretty good at calling the passing game. His staff is excellent at finding 3 stars who can contribute. He identifies talent really well. We will see how well he cultivates it bc this is his first class of Frosh to Senior players
