Thomas Nelson senior Ashley Ritchie scored her 189th career goal in the 29th minute tonight against Danville to tie it, then got her 190th career goal with about 22 minutes left to break the record previously held by Russell's Sheena Ferguson, who tallied 189 in her career from 1999-2002.

She added a third one late in the 3-0 win.

That is an amazing accomplishment. Hopefully that will bring a little joy to a team that has endured tragedy this year. Go, girl!

I know not the first thing about soccer, but she was impressive to watch. That was a very hard played game, also.

That's a lot of goals but curious what kind of competition it is coming against? If you look at the top scorers in the state this year, it is girls scoring against poor competition, it is funny that no top players or players from top teams are on the list.

Thomas Nelson plays tough competition. They have the 8th toughest KY schedule according to Maher with an average opponent strength of 9.69. Their schedule is ranked tougher than 5 out of the top 10 Maher-ranked teams. Ashley Ritchie has scored against #3 Assumption (1), #13 Male (3), #17 Madison Central (2), #25 Bethlehem (2), and #29 Elizabethtown (2). The only team TN has played who Ms. Ritchie did not score against was #6 West Jessamine.

Good accomplishment but Birdie you hit the nail on the head. The previous TNHS coach believes in playing a really bad schedule so he could have a real good record. Like 2013 when they went 19-1 during the season then lost first round of districts. The new coach has really amped up their schedule. Thus the reason why she had 120 goals her fresh/soph years and 71 jr/sr year. If the previous coach was still coaching she would have beat the record her junior year. Not trying to take anything away from her because she is one of the best scorers/finishers in the state.

Agree 100%. They are playing tougher competition this year and she's scoring against quality opponents. I mean it's not like half her goals are coming against a Dayton or Bellevue.

She is a good looking athlete. Didn't score against us at West but was a threat the whole game. Very aggressive and skilled.

Anderson from Somerset isn't a top player? Has to be among the top freshman in the state.
