High school kicker kicks extra point off ref's head - NY Daily News

 

Texas high school football refs just don't seem to be getting along with players lately.

 

Midland Lee kicker Luis Aranda lined up for an extra point — but kicked it straight off a referee’s head and up through the uprights.

 

The other two refs looked confused, but eventually put their arms up and signaled that the kick was good.

 

Video of the wild kick was posted online one day after a coach for John Jay High School in San Antonio admitted to ordering two players to tackle a referee mid-game.

 

The secondary coach, Mack Breed, claimed he planned the attack as revenge because the ref allegedly made racial slurs during the game, the school’s principal said.

 

But Aranda’s short kick didn’t have any malicious intent. And he was lucky the error put his team one point a-head.

Way to use your head ref...probably the first time he had done that the whole game.
