Harrison County 7 GRC 3

Nobody can stand a winner. :thumb:

Absolutely not true... I loved watching Mason County dominate several years ago in basketball. It's the way you win. Nobody can stand arrogant winners who like to belittle other teams who are made up of high school kids...

Whats even worse is that some of Harrison's best teams have been comprised of middle schoolers. :sssh:

If its hilltopper you are talking about as being arrogant, I would be willing to bet he had something to do with the program. ;)

Funny though the people that are arrogant here isn't even involved with the program though....

You are so wrong! Once you go through the Harrison County program under Coach Whitaker you are always a part of the program. There are always former players there to support the team and many of them come up and pitch batting practice and stay a part of the program forever. That is what makes the Harrison County program special. If winning and being proud of your team means you're arrogant, then I guess there could be some arrogant Thorobred fans.

They lose Custard, Ross, and Giles, but they'll just reload... Harrison has some real talent in the 7th and 8th grade and will be "State" contenders for the next 4-6 years.... They may be down a little next year, but they got several 8th graders some experience this year that will prepare them for the future!!!

They lose Ashbrook as well.

I'm speaking of attacking the different teams in the region... I just think it's unnecesarry...

I am not talking about Hilltopper at all...

I was really disappointed in how some of the Cardinal faithful treated their own players after the game. There were some very hateful and hurtful comments made. GRC has a very good program and will continue to be contenders year in and year out in the 10th Region. Congratulations on a great season Cardinals.

Be proud of your program and success. You should be, especially if you were one that worked to get it, or sustain it, at that level. Lots of programs, in baseball or other sports, around the state rival HC's success, alumni dedication, and fan support, but it's how you win that counts. IMO - I just have seen better class.

I guess it all is determined on your definition of class. At Harrison County we stress "Class and Pride". That is the High School motto of sorts and it is instilled in the students from day 1. And honestly, is there anybody that would have give Harrison County or Bourbon County a chance to be in the 2006 Championship game after what they both lost last year? Coach Whitaker and Coach Farris have both done outstanding jobs. Both schools should be proud.

No harm meant - like I said - just my opinion.

I will check into this and see what happened.

Can you give some examples? I've been following Breds baseball for 20 years now and I can never recall a time where they degraded another team.

Coach Whitaker is a great coach and knows baseball as well as anyone, but I wouldn't call him a class act the way he cussed and carries on during the game so everyone in the park can hear him.I also heard some not necessary remarks from an eighth grader who was playing right field that showed me he has an attitude.

I think the perception that Coach Whitaker has on the field is sometimes blown overboard. Sure he is intimidating and reacts/over reacts to calls that don't go his way. But that is him. That's why he's won as many games as he has over the years.

As for the cursing on the field, I've never heard him curse ONE TIME! He's got his little sayings that prevent him from cursing. A lot of "gosh dangs" but I've never heard anything worse than that.

As for the player who had the attitude...I can promise that if Coach Whitaker knew about it, he would take care of it ASAP.

I know you all have to take the pledge of allegiance to Mac or hit the road.Harrison got a few good bounces in the first inning yesterday and scored some runs early and that is what you need to win those games.I don't think BC will be able to win because of the pitching situation but I guess thats why they play the games.Good luck to both teams.
