Have the Bengals ever been as favorite in a playoff game with Dalton at the helm?

 

At home in 2013 against the Chargers. All the rest were road games.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Dalton goes 6/6, leads the touchdown drive, scores the touchdown and there is a quarterback controversy?

 

Had nothing to do with Dalton's drive but all to do with McCarron's play the rest of the way.

YES!!!! It is incredible that we are talking about replacing the winningest QB in franchise history who has taken the team to the playoffs his first four years as a pro with a guy who has never played in an NFL game.

 

...and I am not a Dalton fan at all but let's be fair here guys. The guy can start on a lot of NFL teams.

 

Lets be fair, but also lets be honest. Yes if the Bengals got rid of him right now there would be a lot of teams who would want him. However the types of teams he would end up at are mostly teams who don't have much talent around them. As we have seen with Dalton he doesn't raise the level of play of players around him. So while teams may want him if the Bengals let him go right now. Do you think people would still be wanting Dalton after a year or two with another team? I think if Dalton goes to another team his numbers get worst, and he also doesn't win. In Cincinnati he has been blessed with a top 10 defense his first three years, and last season he had the 6th best rushing offense. You put him somewhere else, and Dalton probably looks like a lot of the guys from other teams that fans are wanting gone and looking more like a backup.

 

While he has been the most successful Bengal QB ever in regular season in terms of wins. He also probably has had the most talent around him than any other QB ever has had in Cincinnati.

against the 6th seed a couple

No. Only because Dalton once again can't complete anything downfield so his 6-6 were all

short screens and 5 yard passes.

 

Difference between his 6-6 and AJ's 6-6 was AJ spread the field. Went deep went intermediate and went short and most of all

checked down instead of forcing the ball into the primary receiver.

He had a couple nice on the money throws also. The problem for AD is we know his big game history which makes AJ an attractive option at this point.

Good post. I would add that a successful QB in the NFL has to have a few things. Talent, Football IQ(ability to read defenses quickly) and deadly accuracy. Andy has the talent around him and has decent football IQ but lacks the third. Andy is a competitive athlete and would start for a lot of teams, a lot of teams that finish .500.

True! That's why I do argue it when people say he is just terrible. However he is not a qb that is going to get us to our ultimate goal either.
