September 21, 201510 yr I finally got to the Wallace/Vince episodes!!!! Season 4!String! Where's Wallace at?
October 2, 201510 yr Okay.....just finished the whole thing. The last two episodes were too much. Too much. I'm too old to be all emotional over a tv show. Okay....now that I had a good cry here are my favorite characters. 1. Matt Saracen-the unassuming backup QB who led the team to state...twice....dated the coach's daughter, deflowered her, proposed to her, told the coach he was marrying his daughter and that there was nothing he could do about it. He's the only one who beat Coach Taylor more than Tami. BOSS. 2. Coach Taylor-I want all of my kids, grandkids and their kids to play for him. 3. Landry Clark-Landry was awesome. Period. 4. Tyra(what was her last name)-IMO the most likable female in the series. Tami does it for a few of you. Tyra did it for me. 5. Vince-sentimental choice here. His character was a cliche but man....that's Wallace. "String, where's Wallace? String, where's Wallace?!?!? WHERE'S WALLACE, STRING!!!!" "STRING!!!!" Honorable mention: Riggins-can't help but love the dude but man he's an idiot. Tami-loved Tami but she always won and she was always right. That irked me. She was awesome though. Smash, Luke, Buddy Garrity, Jess, Street, Lyla and yes, Julie Taylor....loved them all. So many good characters on this show. I didn't hate many but I did hate: 1. Becky 2. Becky 3. Billy Riggins-how does this idiot win more than Tim? Billy isn't even a likable person. 4. Becky 5. The whole McCoy family-where the hell did they go? JD was a freshman, sophomore and junior and then they disappeared and Wade disappeared and Mac was the new head coach. Did I miss something in an episode somewhere that explained that?

Most of the time the writing was excellent but there were faults (looking at you S2). But throughout it all the created some of the most real, likable, and overall best characters in TV history.
October 2, 201510 yr I saw the movie. It was okay. I never watched the TV show because the movie was just okay. I've never watched it either. But I do have Netflix. Will have to check it out. Randy! Schue! Get with the program!
October 2, 201510 yr I think this is the #1 strength of the show. Most of the time the writing was excellent but there were faults (looking at you S2). But throughout it all the created some of the most real, likable, and overall best characters in TV history. It was really easy to remember the characters I didn't like. Making that top 5 list was hard. They did a great job.
October 2, 201510 yr I'll also add that for a show centered around football you don't have to be a football fan to appreciate the show. That's a phenomenal job by the writers. Even though they messed up and put the wrong score on one of the game balls that was put in Buddy's game ball trophy case.

I also really like Street's roommate. Without question, Lyla is my least favorite. If this was a slasher flick, I would hope Jason (hockey mask Jason, not Fat Jason) would behead her and then the special teams could use her head for field goal practice. Others I hate are Buddy, Tim's brother, Tim's ex-girlfriend, the assistant coach, Voodoo...that's all I can think of right now. And I don't know what to do with Tim. I love him as a football player, but he's a pretty crappy person.
