Hey Vol.....are you coach Black's agent? Positioning him for more money? LOL

Seriously, if he is the choice, I expect great things from him. At Whitley he will have some great kids to build his program with and should be able to win most every year.

Define win? I don't mean this as a disrespect to Whitley, but it would a tough job to win at. Sure you can win 8 to 10 regular season games, but with the region they play in it would be tough to win a region title, and it would take a miracle to win a state title at Whitley, North and South too for that matter in football. He has a better chance to win at Williamsburg in a lot ways over Whitley. Williamsburg was one play away from the State Semi-finals two years ago. If Kentucky goes to a 5 or 6 class system that will help improve their chances of winning, and if anyone can turn Whitley into a contender, I think Jim Black is the right choice, I wish him the best of luck if he does take this job, and hopefully Whitley can win 9 games next year, but not 10, and I'm sure you guys know who I hope the one loss is too.:D

I am sure for Jim Black "easy" or "tough" it makes no difference. He can win, and he can win in the playoffs regardless of being at Williamsburg or Whiltey. No disrespect to Lynn Camp or Williamsburg but given the choice and it appears he was, I too would have taken Whitley County.

Naw, not his agent...lol. Just have a relative that has played the past three years for him and the kid loves him dearly. He will be heartbroken over this for sure. But what a difference coach Black has been in his life.

I have never heard anything but glowing reviews of Coach Black. Whether he stays at W'burg or goes to Whitley Co, I wish him the best. I think he could win anywhere he coaches.

I didn't realize he was given the chioce to go to Lynn Camp. I don't see what they have to do with him. How can Whitley win in Playoffs? Not many teams in their distrcit has been very successful over the years in the playoffs. Madison Central has played for the region title twice, and South once since 1999. The distict has also been swept out of playoffs a couple of times. Whitley themselves haven't been in the playoffs since 2002, and longer then that since they won a playoff game, and I don't believe they have ever made it past the second round in school history, or have won a playoff game since moving to 4A. Over all this time to Whitley County has been a very good football team, one of the best overall in Eastern Kentucky, and they had one of top coaches around in Mike Campbell, and one of the best coaching staffs in state. What do you think Jim Black can do to turn it around at Whitley?

Jim Black will be successful at Whitley County, the man is a winner. The problem will be in how everybody measures that. If advancing deep into the playoffs every year is the measuring stick, then some are going to be disappointed.

If the rumors are true, Coach Black the best of luck to you! However, if he wanted to win state or even come close, I would have to agree with LC99!!!

Single A is an easier road then 4A! That is just a fact, however, people in that area don't care about state titles, that is only for the good schools!!!:fight:

So therefore I think the expectations will be low for Coach Black to do well! I think expectations at his former location where higher! Williamsburg has always seemed to be a football school, well as long as I remember!!

Any news on who Williamsburg's next coach will be? I think who ever it will be will be surprised at how difficult it is in district 7!!!

Its sad to see that coach Black has decided to leave Williamsburg, He is a great coach and knows how to win. Dont expect this to ruin williamsburg's football seson this upcoming year though, Im sure the 2006 jacket football team led by a group of outstanding seniors will find a way to make it deep into the playoffs just like they did in 2004.

I am not exactly for sure on this but Black and his staff were at the Franlkin Clinic this year and Whitley may look much like South Laurel, and Corbin are running.

Coach Black will missed at the burg. :(

Which issue was that in i didn't get to see what they said about them.
