Final/If 21-12 isn't the final someone correct me.

Greenup might not be a sleeper!! Know it's a scrimmage but doesn't sound like they took the next step.

Aaron Snyder has it right with the ADI. He just needs to flip flop Greenup County and West Carter at 7 and 8.

Snyder’s NEKY Super Seven

I’m not sure if a “Monday Morning Quarterback” column is in the works prior to kickoff, so here’s the preseason version of my “Super Seven.”

1. Johnson Central

2. Ashland

3. Raceland

4. Russell

5. Lawrence County

6. Paintsville

7. Greenup County

Knocking on the door (next two in): West Carter, Rowan County.

Greenup was in last nights scrimmage with a second string QB who gave a good effort but missed the mark on a few key plays. The Same QB is their JV starting QB and looked strong in his late appearance in the 4th quarter outing of the JV squad. May have been a case of jitters with the varsity group. Jared Hunt will be back hopefully Monday the 17th and work toward a cohesive outing will resume at this time. But many highlights were seen on Greenup's behalf through their backs and younger group.

Greenup hurt themselves on special teams by not being able to convert point afters and with untimely penalties. One of those penalties took a touchdown off of the board.

These two teams I.M.O. were very evenly matched on this night.

Can't base season on a scrimmage score because coaches are looking for different things. However if Weat can play a little defense they will upset some folks.

Greenup has the athletes, its gonna be a matter of whether the line can hold up all year and get enough push to execute their scheme.

So Greenup played stayed with West Carter WITHOUT Hunt? This changes my thinking on both teams. Greenup with Hunt probably wins by 2 scores.
