3A #2 Lexington Catholic/Boone County predictions

Lexington Catholic returns to 3A after a successful eight-year run in 4A. The Knights, 11-4 last season, open the season at 6A Boone County. What are your thoughts on this matchup?

Star running back Jaylen Jones for LexCath is supposed to miss this game with his hand injury but I still predict the Knights to win.

If LexCath can look good against Ballard I have no doubt they should be able to put Boone County in their rear view.

The plan is to give Jaylen Jones hand injury another week so the Knights nights will be without their premier running back in this game.

 

Look for a big night from from Brumbaugh in the passing stats. He has a veteran senior receiving corp who numbers are easy to remember - #1 - Donovan Morris, #2 - Andy Thompson and #3 JJ Ogbugo. Even without Jones coach Perry may leverage his strong o-line with seniors Noah Tubridy and Colin Carpenter.

 

Defensively, the Knights look to have reloaded the loss of 3 senior linebackers last year and have experienced seniors and strong underclassmen in the defensive backfield Seniors Andy Hickey, Davis Rowady, Eli Mitchell are back with juniors Jack Fagot and Austin Pedroche likely being factors.

 

Knights should win this one going away.
