Intentionally Hitting the Umpire

Featured Replies

I would hope I could simply because it would reflect poorly on umpires and my association. However, I've got some "red butt" in me that can quickly take over.

Surely you're not going to take it out on the kids on the field, so that leaves you with the coach. I don't foresee many umpires instigating a fight with the coach...at least not on the field (or in the dugout).

Not the kids. What would I do/say to the coach? We're not talking about a case of them arguing a call. What if that fastball broke his arm? The coach set the umpire up to potentially be seriously injured. Not sure how I'd react to that.

Plus, you have the viewing angle of the camera. It is absolutely impossible to judge ball/strike from videos like this - without a computer doing some geometry & physics calcs...

I know of players who try to intentionally hit the photographer sitting on the field who is wearing a helmet.

I'm not a very easy target to hit...

Poor decision by the coach, pitcher, and catcher, but....

The home plate umpire is cheating for some reason. That called ball four pitch was not on the corner, it was right down the middle of the plate. It was not letter high or knee high, it was belt high.

For the umpire who has any experience calling a game to call that pitch ball four, he has a hidden agenda and is cheating.

Enough said my friend!
