Severe outlook for Monday 7/13/15

Featured Replies

As I said in an earlier thread I've been watching Monday for severe weather. Again it looks like an afternon to early evening event.

It also looks like we may see some more severe weather later in the week.

Here is the map for Monday.

I'm tired of the rain already. It's causing enough issues with our softball tournament this week. We don't need the same issue next week with the older girls.

As for Monday, I prefer it stays dry so I can take my son to the home run derby.

Right now it is not looking really good for Monday nor Tuesday.

Is the stuff widespread or is it going to be scattered pop up stuff? Going downtown for the All Star game festivities and this has me worried.

I'm checking the morning information right now. The chance of widespread storms has increased a great deal for Monday. Now it is showing slight chance of severe weather on Tuesday.

Most of Kentucky is now in an enhance area for possible severe storms on Monday. Cities included in this area are Bowling Green, Williamsburg, Mt. Sterling, Winchester, Lexington, Louisville, Evansville and Cincinnati.

An enhanced area mean:

*numerous severe storms possible

*more persistant and/or widespread

*a few tornadoes

*several reports of wind damage

*hail 1-2" in diameter

Here's how it looks at the moment. Storms to be active early in the day. These storms maybe severe with damaging winds. During the day heating will cause extreme destabilation and the dew points will be in the 70's. A Rejuvenation from the earlier storms should occur later in the day. Very large hail, and a few tornadoes will be possible. Any significant tornado threat is yet to be determined. These are looking to occur late-afternoon into the evening and into early Tuesday morning.

I'll be posting updates as we get closer.

Here's my other question. Is this the kind of storm system that flares up with the humidity then at night they pretty much are gone? I have tickets for the Home Run Derby Monday which starts at 8. Hoping it clears out by then.

If the information holds that I saw this morning I think these storms will last from early afternoon into early morning on Tuesday.

I really hope your information is wrong lol.

Thanks, NWO, you are a huge help

You're welcome it's not looking good for the all star game either. Hopefully the system will move through quicker than the models are showing now.

It now is looking like the same areas that get hit Monday afternoon and evening are going to see the same thing on Tuesday during the same time periods.

One more question, will these be in waves/lines or constant rain? If it comes in lines and waves I'll be a lot less worried about the games

nWo do you know what the weather is going to be in Cleveland on Thursday and Friday? We have another trip planned. Thanks.
