July 8, 201511 yr We've had several threads about All-Time Reds teams and they are always and rightfully so, dominated by players from the Big Red Machine. So name your All-Time Reds lineup without any players that played for Cincy from 1970-1976 Here is mine off of the top of my head...I'm only going with players since the BRM, ones I've actually watched. 1B Votto 2B Phillips 3B Frazier SS Larkin LF E Davis CF Griffey Jr RF Parker C Oliver SP Rijo RP Chapman
July 8, 201511 yr Author No Sabo? Hal Morris? Oneil? Evidently not :lol2: I like the Cobra better than Oneil and Frazier better than Spuds. Morris would have been behind Casey also for me.
July 8, 201511 yr I'd go with Cueto over Rijo. Maybe Taubensee over Oliver. Probably go Bret Boone over Phillips as well.
July 8, 201511 yr Author I'd go with Cueto over Rijo. Maybe Taubensee over Oliver. Probably go Bret Boone over Phillips as well. That was my toughest call... Post your team, when you get time.
July 8, 201511 yr C: Eddie Taubensee 1B: Joey Votto 2B: Bret Boone SS: Barry Larkin 3B: Todd Frazier LF: Eric Davis CF: Ken Griffey Jr. RF: Reggie Sanders SP: Johnny Cueto RP: Aroldis Chapman I also only went with players I remember watching, thus Parker was ineligible for my team. July 8, 201511 yr Author 1B: Votto 2B: BP SS: Larkin 3B: Sabo C: Eddie Taubensee LF: George Foster CF: Eric Davis RF: Dave Parker SP: Soto/Cueto I love the Soto pick, I completely forgot about him...one of my favorite Red's pitchers ever. Can't use Foster, he was part of the 70-76 BRM even though he was a stud later.
July 8, 201511 yr Can't use Foster, he was part of the 70-76 BRM even though he was a stud later. I used him because of 1977.
July 8, 201511 yr Author I used him because of 1977. I know why you used him, I would have used him too. But I was wanting us to build a team without ANY BRM players.
