Walter
Announced this morning...then hours later Wilmington star and 4* guard Jarron Cumberland commits to the Bearcats as well. Hell of a day for Mick and his staff.

Walter
Along with 3 star C Nysier Brooks last night. Busy 24 hours for this guy... Brooks kind of came out of nowhere as he visited UC then literally committed right after leaving Xavier's campus the next day, but you were on top of things in regards to where UC stood with Cumberland/Washington. Exciting to think about the possible lineups Mick can roll out these next few years. Washington will flourish in UC's offense next to Gary and a 2/3 combo of Evans/Cumberland is going to be really tough for opposing teams to slow down. ColonelCrazy
Cumberland is the kid from Wilmington, right? Granted I haven't seen him play too often, but he was easily the most talented kid on the floor when I saw him play...and also the laziest. I just hope the offence improves. I really like Mick but he has to get more than kid that can score the ball. Their effort on defence is there year after year. NKY Bandit
Seemed like Mick did a really good job of recruiting kids when UC was in the Big East. I think those types of guys really fit into Mick's style. I think they need more than one guy that can score before they ever rise back to a top level type of team. TexasRanger
Sounds like you're on the fence with Mick. Naw, if he can recruit some skilled offensive players I think Mick's haters will quite down. If not, I'm guessing he will move on in a year or 2. The guy can coach he just hasn't had offensive skilled guys. Players seem to like to play for him and he seems to get a lot out of his guys. I think if Mick ever leaves UC he will be successful wherever he goes. May or may not win a national championship but he will always have a winning program. The shift in recruiting philosophy has been clear with guys like Gary Clark, Jacob Evans, Cumberland and Washington. The only way Mick even remotely considers the thought of leaving UC is if UL comes calling with a truckload of money. Even then I think he stays put at UC for his career... Does he have custody of his daughter? From all accounts he is tremendously close to his daughter and not that any parent would not be close to their kids, but is that a tug to keep him close to the area? I know that this was a factor for Donnie Tyndall but as his daughters got older he could get a little further away.
