30+ Children Are Poisoned Each Day In The U.S. From Eating Detergent Pods

Featured Replies

Why are these parents letting their children get ahold of laundry pods?! Put them up high on shelves along with the ant spray, bleach and everything else that should be out of reach of small children. Personal responsibility.

1. If your detergent pods are easily accessible to your kids, that's your fault.

2. If your kid (of a certain age) is stupid enough to eat a detergent pod, also your fault. :lol2:

I'm not saying (at all) that I disagree with you...but don't you think it would be fairly easy to take measures to not make them look so much like colorful candy?

If they were out of reach, the child wouldn't know it looked like colorful candy.

I don't think it's Tide's responsibility to make sure your kid doesn't eat the detergent...

True. But is it Chevrolet's responsibility to make sure you don't run your car into another? They still have to take safety measures to try to keep you safe if you do...

Which is why we have a poison control # to call or an emergency room to visit.

Tide Pods. Big white letters. Keep out of reach of children.

And just think, if those things had been around when I was a little kid, my mom wouldn't have had to hold me down to wash my mouth out with soap...I could have done it voluntarily.:puke:

We need selective breed policies in this country for humans.

We have ours in the pull out drawer under the washer. This thread convinces me to move them to higher ground so a height-challenged person or a dog doesn't eat them.

If your child is eating detergent that's a you problem, not a detergent problem.

They call that eugenics. It's happened in the past. Google it.
