Predict Which Reds Will Be Traded

Featured Replies

I'm getting scared that the Reds won't move anyone. They are just too close for Reds management to throw in the towel. Don't get me wrong I love seeing the Reds win and play good but it kind of stinks at the same time just because it's no secret that they need to begin rebuilding their roster.

In today's MLB you simply don't see fire sale deadline deals. With the revenue sharing/luxury tax system teams like the royals and reds have enough $$$ to keep their best players.

The issue with the reds isn't $$$ or needing to trade. it's walt jockety and his awful minor league scouting system. the guy was pretty good at building a team in the 90's and early 2000's when it was all about trades and free agent signings. Now it's about scouting and development. The reds are awful at that.

Reds fans hoping to stock up on stud minor leaguers will be disappointed at the trade deadline. Teams don't trade top prospects any more.

Teams don't trade top prospects any more??

Addison Russel, Trea Turner, Andrew Heaney, Joe Ross, Matt Wisler, Mike Foltynewicz, Trevor Bauer. This is off the top of my head and only recent memory but there's more.

Top prospects get traded in the offseason and at the deadline every season. Having a stocked farm system is a key to a successful organization because the prospects can either be promoted to help a flailing team or to fill an injury or they can be dangled as trade chips for instant upgrades that can put a team into WS contention.

You really think that Bruce thinks he's a 12.5 million dollar/year player? Two straight seasons of batting .220 is certainly humbling.

.220 power hitters who can hit 30 + home runs will always command more money and thus they believe they are worth more than they really are.

Colby Rasmus gets what 7 mill a year to be average, injured and hit around 25 HR.

When he is playing with Brandon Phillips getting $12m and $13m next year, Homer Bailey getting $10m and $18m next year and Joey Votto getting $14m and going to $20m next year, absolutely he thinks he is worth that much.
