As he has stated many times, his issue is the fact that the All-A is no longer serving it's initial purpose, ie giving teams that are determined to have "no shot", a shot a state-like tournament atmosphere (albeit not the real state tourney). Determination being based solely on enrollment and not ability, giving many teams that "have a shot" in the KHSAA tourney another shot at an additional tournament trophy, all while excluding other teams just because they have a higher enrollment, and leaving the schools that need the All-A the most, back at the bottom again. While I agree with all of his valid points, I also obviously take it one step further - I don't believe everyone deserves a trophy. and that when talking about Champions, they should be KHSAA State Champions. and that the KHSAA should determine who the state champ is and which sports should have classes and which should not, and not have defacto classes because the All-A wants to run a tournament.

What is your position on independent schools that have state championships ? Many smaller schools, not KHSAA aligned, participate in their own. Are those state championships not valid or just the ones of KHSAA member schools ?

June 15, 201511 yr The state really should have separate state champs for these sports based on enrollment. Is Kentucky the only state that does this? Not a big fan of the All-A either. BTW, my daughter was cover .

BTW, my daughter was cover . Delaware only classes football (2 classes, big and and small school). All other sports only crown 1 champ. Of course there's only about 60 high schools in the state.
