8 weeks post hip replacement, update

Featured Replies

Was 8 weeks ago yesterday (5/25) I had total left hip replacement...I was on the golf course Saturday AND Sunday playing 18. I mean, was that even possible a few years ago? No walking device, gave up the cane this weekend. Still a little slow when getting up from a seated position and takes a few steps to get "settled in" and going, get going pretty well after initial first few steps. That should get better with time.

But it's just amazing to me what modern medicine can do in some areas today. I'm telling you right now, if you need a hip replaced, don't walk, RUN (the best you can) to UK sports medicine clinic and see Dr. Stephen Duncan. The guy knows what he's doing...even if he does technically work for UK.

Glad you are recovering so nicely.

Surprising, seeing as you went to UK for the treatment.

Great deal.

I'd get a hip replaced if it improved my short game.

Good news BigV but don't talk about how much more comfortable you are on the course...going to cost you strokes against your buddies...

Great deal.

Would that be the same as a yip replacement? I'm all in...

Glad to hear you are doing well. I have not had a hip replacement...and hopefully never need one...but knowing people who had have one, I will say that I strongly recommend to them to get it done ASAP.

I have a cousin now who I cannot get to have his done, and it is miserable watching him try to get around. He's got every excuse in the book.

Good advice...never thought about it like that.

Glad to hear you're doing well, BigV.

Out of curiosity, how long did you deal with hip problems prior to getting the surgery?
