Anybody get their region games started on time? We're on a delay in the 5th Region til about 12:30. First game was supposed to start at 11. This could be a wet week.

9th region started on time in the rain. Still cruising with scattered rain throughout game so far.

7th region all postponed. All were supposed to play at 11. With the forecast in Louisville calling for rain all week it could be interesting trying to get these things in.

All 6th and 7th region games rescheduled until tomorrow at 5.

Somehow or another the 5th Region baseball got their semifinal games in today. A bit of a surprise given how it rained pretty much all day. Needed 79 bags of Diamond Dry to get the field at Nelson Co. in playable condition. Given all the rain we've had, the field was in great shape thanks to the hard work of NC field crew and its numerous volunteers.

Are you exaggerating when you say 79 bags? If not, that is a good chunk of change spent.

Nope. Made an announcement about it before the first game and everything. I don't know how much that stuff goes for, but I overheard someone saying something about $600.

Without knowing what brand they used, typically the cheapest is $10/bag up to $15/bag. Maybe they got a better deal than that but I'm thinking the total was probably over $750.

Love their dedication! Those type of supporters never get enough love.

12th Region baseball hasn't played either semifinal game. West Jessamine had to push today's game back an hour because of graduation practice — and if they make the final (scheduled for Friday), their seniors will miss graduation (which is also Friday).

Same thing with the 10th Region in Clark County. The forecast for tonight looks like it might be ok, but tomorrow looks iffy. And Scott has graduation on Saturday afternoon.

They won't play the final on Friday. I'm guessing the final will be Saturday afternoon.

They were running into the same problems here with graduation conflicts. Had a lot to do with why they so desperately wanted to get last night's semifinals played. Fortunately it looks like the rain we were expecting tonight will not come in until midnight.
