Coach Tackles Man that Wanders onto Football Field During Game

This guy completely makes a fool of himself but what an odd experience that would be at the beginning of the video especially for the players. Did the coach do the right thing or should he have left it to law enforcement to come out there and do it?

Im gonna take a stab that law enforcement was not immediately close to the field, so no I have no issue with it at all. Somebody has to take control of the situation.

It did not seem like the drunk guy was hurting anybody (attacking the refs, etc.) or doing anything except waste everybody's time, but I understand how the coach would want to speed the arrest/kick-out process up.

I tell you what it shows: how difficult cops have it dealing with the idiots of this world. They don't know if these guys are stoned or dangerous.

 

As far as this situation goes, it looks like a hs game and they should have him with the bus.

Exactly it's a high school game and that means there were kids out there. You don't know what he was going to do, those kids could have been in danger.

I am most disappointed that no one scoop and scored in the fumble.

 

Seriously not sure what people get by running or in this case walking onto the playing surface during any game.

The guy was drunk & 26 years old.

 

The man who tackled him first was off-duty Placer County Sheriff's Lt. Troy Minton-Sander, who told CBS that he though Hurley might be on PCP or bath salts. He said he also thought that a belt and pouch Hurley was carrying might have contained a knife.
