What about Gage Tucker? Isn't he going to play on the D-Line? He's continuing to develop nicely and with his size and strength he could add pressure as well.

Doesn't Scott use a 3 man line? I would look for them to blitz some linebackers.

And that's so unfortunate. But I guess that's the difference between good athletes and those destined to be great...You're amongst the leaders of your class, put up good numbers...You have to be able to perform on the big stage when it all counts!

 

I think everyone who participated in this thread will agree on two things: 1. Northern KY's C/O 2016 will field some of the top RBs in the state this year; and 2. Jacob Smith will be at the forefront of that group. So, no one is ragging on him.

 

He's very talented and the looks he's generating validates his abilities (as I stated, he can break a team's back if not contained). However, those looks only gets him on the recruiting board - alongside other talented backs from across the region/country. In order to actually land the offer (and this goes for every kid in that group) you have to perform on the big stage...

Yes Big Gage will be at nose again this year, little bigger and stronger . He should be putting pressure on the center and making quarterbacks nervous. If he is double teamed as usual then the Linebackers will have a field day and upload stats thanks to him again tbis year !!

Yes..Plenty of talent to showcase in Nky football !

Not just necessarily speaking on "going deep into the state" (although it won't hurt to show how you got there). But just being able to perform against those more formidable opponents period. Nothing against those programs but kids rush for 150-200 yards and 3-4 TDs on Holy Cross, Grant Co., etc. But then when they get into those bigger games...You know what I'm saying.

Scott's rushing had similar issues putting up huge numbers until meeting up with Cooper and Anderson County. This season Scott will need a run pass balance and score off the defense.

After reviewing films from the past 2 seasons , I still say the majority of the issues on defense , is the corners getting beat unfortunately, The line was causing chaos many times making the quarterback scramble and forcing them to pass on the run . The fortunate thing is many passes were either over thrown or the opposing teams dropped the football . Cooper game both years . Conner game , South oldham this past season and Anderson game , we got beat bad on long ball and penalties. I do believe the linebackers will be the key to making big stops on the run and short passes to the middle . The line does have improving to do , and have lost several good players in the past 2 seasons combined . That being said they have new and old talent returning on the line and linebacker positions . I also look forward into them entertaining the idea of utilizing Perrin in the secondary to help as I believe Danny Fitzgerald has also played saftey in the past . It should be interesting, I myself can't wait to see the outcome after the summers preparation.

Seen Ohmer play very well at wide reciever and at saftey his younger years and At Froshmore level. He definitely would fit in somewhere in the mix .
