With Boone Co schools not sponsoring MS athletics (football, wrestling and a few others) the bandits started up I think 2 years ago. Similar to the Union Raiders and Union Jaguars that feed Ryle and Cooper.

One of the Bandits parents told me that Padgett wasnt even going to be enrolled at Conner next year. No idea if there is truth to that, just what I was told.

Why did they start?

I was at the Conner spring game this year, and they are noticeably a much bigger football team now. Being as young as they were last year, obviously another year for them to mature physically and also hit the weight room should help their cause.

 

Look for Ebarb to have a HUGE year. I'm not sure he will come off the field and should excel in all facets of the game. He looked bigger and quicker.

 

The addition of Collier should give Conner a little boost. He looked really good defensively playing at DE and LB. He might end up being too valuable on the defensive side of the ball to be considered for QB (Conner QBs traditionally do not play both ways). Time will tell if Padgett earns the starting QB spot back for 2015. This will be his first week back with the football team now that baseball has ended. Kid is gonna have a busy schedule with hoops shoot-arounds in the morning, football conditioning in the afternoon, and summer baseball games in the evening.

Padgett is a seasoned QB. Why would you consider a sophy over that? Padgett could move and more important, think on his feet. Look at the South Oldham game for instance. The kid has leadership skills as well. But you also get the people (parents) that think jimmy is better than Tommy. Look where it got that kid that left Conner to play for the Bengals last year...,, haha nowhere. I say Padgett get the nod but the other youngster will get quite a few snaps as well.

Ummmm was a joke. My point was to give the QB job to a kid that has already put in the work on the Varsity squad and has proved he can do what it takes to win.

I think Clyde is referring to a certain poster last year that fearlessly predicted that his son would be the starting QB for Conner, which ultimately did not work out that way.

I think Conner will surprise a few teams this season . They should win a few games and play very competitive even in the games they don't actually win !
