JamTime Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 I'm getting a headache trying to read this. Sorry, does that help?
Lawnboy13 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Sorry, does that help? 1000 times better, great job.
vansmetal Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Are those all legitimate homeruns, or are some in the park homeruns? What if a field doesn't have a fence or teams make errors trying to get a player out while they get all the way home. Does any of that come into place with slugging % or homeruns?
RCC9 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I can confirm that ALL of Graybill's are legitimate!!! Probably has 3 to 4 more if not playing on fields with unreachable or extremely long fences.
keepinitreal Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I can confirm that ALL of Graybill's are legitimate!!! Probably has 3 to 4 more if not playing on fields with unreachable or extremely long fences. She is a BEAST but in a good way!!!

If the scorer rules it as an error on the throw it relay then it shouldn't be a HR, but we have to rely on the bookkeepers for all error implications.

I feel for the players who have home fields with extremely deep fences. For instance, I've never seen anyone hit it out at St. Henry or Villa. I'm sure there would have been quite a few more for the St. Henry team this year if the fence weren't so deep. Especially Gabby Stewart. Most of her triples would have been out. And that would have raised her slug % and RBIs.
BiggDaddy Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 I know resources are an issue for high schools and playing field options, but I think we are doing a disservice to the girls by playing on fields with unreachable or no fences. The HR is a real part of the game and in order to compare true stats "across the board" every team should have the same or close capabilities. I wouldn't want short porches like at Bourbon County, but consistent dimensions would be preferrable. Maybe someone can confirm if there are minimum demensions for hosting districts, regionals for State?

Seen a couple that looked as if the wind put a 40ft wall up at the fence knocking a couple out. Has Shelby had an INSIDE the fence home run? Doubtful... I know she's hit a bunch far enough - had the fence not been there - to get around the bases. But you have to be pretty darn fast to make it inside. She's not SLOW, but she isn't quite FAST either.

That's off memory and don't have time to look it up right now.

I've witnessed some plays this year that when reported on here, they were scored incorrectly...........IMO. BTW, this is NOT a knock on anyone.
Lawnboy13 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Haley Meyers numbers to date......37 hits, 10 2B, 7 3B, 2 HR, .466 OB%, 807 SLG%, .446 avg. Bolded indicate team leader. also 17-9 144K's 1.84ERA....having one hell of a year.
