NEERFAN Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Get ready, this is going to be a great series. I had lost hope in the Rockets but they are playing some good ball. It's hard to name a deeper team. We are going to see some high scoring games. As much as it pains me to say Howard may be the difference. Harden , Curry will be fun.
HammerTime Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I don't think the Rockets can defend well enough to control the Warriors.
UKMustangFan Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 The Warriors massacred the Rockets in their 4 meetings this season. I don't see any reason to think it won't happen again. Warriors in 5.
JokersWild24 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Houston has some versatility with the lineups they can throw out there. I'm wondering if Bogut is more banged up than is being let on. I know he had an MRI after one of their games in the Memphis series. Putting Harden at the 1 and Howard at the 5, Houston then has 5 players you can rotate at the other spots in Terry, Ariza, Smith, Brewer, Jones, so they'll match up well defensively if they can find a way to hide Harden. Each game is probably going to be the first to 120, so the biggest tell is likely going to be how well Houston can shoot the ball and if a guy like Josh Smith will shoot them out of a game.
ggclfan Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Warriors in 5 - possibly 6. They are very good at the defensive end - #1 in defensive efficiency. May have one really bad shooting game (maybe two) which allows Houston to get one or two but the Warriors have been consistently very good at BOTH ends all year.

Agree with all of that so long as Bogut is healthy. I'm of the opinion that he's more banged up than they've let on and than people seem to be thinking. A "precautionary MRI" after a playoff game is never a good thing, and it's even worse when it's coming on a big man who has an injury-riddled history and you'll need him to check Howard in the next round. As anemic as the Grizzlies offense could be, they still took the Warriors to 6. Seeing all the momentum that Houston is riding, it's going to take a hell of an effort for GS to win it in 5, but they could do it if they are healthy.

JokersWild24 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Warriors should win. But how many of those regular season games did Howard play? Of the four, he didn't play in the first two, and in the second of those, Harden was also suffering from back spasms. In the two where Howard played, Golden State still blew them out though. NEERFAN Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Warriors are the favorite but basing it off regular season games won't mean much. They last played on 1/21. I'm not a fan of Howard but the guy is rebounding at a high level. It will be interesting to see how the Warriors handle that matchup.
