May 12, 201511 yr Has anyone see the field since it was damaged this weekend? NKSA uses the field for practices and games and they have cancelled all games yesterday and all practices last night. Someone told me that did Crossfit games on the fields on Saturday that severely damaged the fields to the point they can not be used. It is a turf field, curious as to what happened to it.

Playing surface is really nice, I attribute this to it only being a few years old. I for one, do not feel that the field offers a safe playing environment. There is virtually no "extra" room all the way around the pitch, it goes right up to the concrete, or gravel, depending where you are. The other area of concern, is the fencing in the corners, not sure what the reasoning is for having it there. I feel that it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured in one of these two corners.
May 13, 201511 yr .... Dropping weights created huge holes in the turf -- apparently nothing in the Crossfit contract covered damages, so someone, somewhere, is having an "Oh SHOOT" moment. I think Thomas More is the best field that NKSA uses, but both Boone Pee Wee and Tower Park are very nice as well.

Apparently there was some facebook post (sorry if that is the wrong term, I'm not a FB guy) about it ripping someone by name from pillar to post, but it has since been removed. Someone is going to be on the hook for the repairs ($10,000 minimum is what I heard last night) and I bet it won't be the Crossfit Tournament. Crazy.

Depending on the weights they were using (I have no idea what crossfit is) but just putting one of those weight room mats down on the field could have helped. Anybody got pics of the damage. If they have to unstitch the turf to fill in holes and drainage, it could get real costly. Oh and Pee Wee season starts in 3 months.

May 13, 201511 yr This is posted on their facebook page. "We know about the accusations going on regarding the field, but unless it is on here - it is not true. There are some divots in the field (not tears or damage beyond repair) from an event that was hosted last weekend, but it is not beyond being fixed. May 13, 201511 yr Cross fit is paying for the repairs to the two spots where the damage occurred. Then that is new because that was not the case at 7:30 PM last night. Good on them if that is the case, especially since they apparently had no contractual reason to have to do so. Good on them!
