Unless Hopkinsville adds transfers, Christian County will have the best team in the 2nd and the region MVP in Tyrik Edwards. Tyrik lit up every team he played at the AAU state tournament this weekend. Plus County could be adding a player I've heard.

I like Christian County's chances based on right now but you never know what will happen in that region haha.

Lol it's crazier than Louisville man and that's saying a lot

Wayne County? Hazard?

Wayne County returns: Trey Blevins 19.5 ppg, Corey Stearns 19.3 ppg, and a very good Freshman class led by Jackson Baker.

Hazard returns: Just about everyone, Griffin Wells, Jason Johnson, Austin Spurlock, Blake Nidiffer, and have added 2 players.

Mercer returns everyone except for 2 Bench players. Wayne loses the best Shooter in the Region. I just do not see Wayne as the winner of the 12th .

I agree Mercer will be the #1 team in the region but I'll still take Coach Woods in the end.

I'll take 1) Mercer County 2) Southwestern

And in the 14th, I think it's Perry Central all the way.

That sounds like a fair pre-season ranking. (#3 Wayne)... but again in the end Wayne could still pull it out.

Now I can go along with that. Anything can happen at tournament time as we see every season. Don't discount Casey County either. They have pretty much their entire team back, as well.

Yes Casey will be a very good team.

If the rumors are true and Powell and Coldiron end up at Pulaski County and the region being at Pulaski, they will be a hard out for anyone.

I also believe that you will see Boyle succeed next season. Our Freshman class is extremely talented with likes of Will Bramel, Baby J and Bryce Sloan and we return Big Man Colton Elkins as well as Josiah Robbins.

Also a little note.. Boyle Guard Dario DelCastillo has made state in every year of his High School career. 2 years in Hawaii and then last season here in Kentucky. I figured to throw that out there because it seemed cool

The only thing I worry about with Boyle County is who will score the points?

That's easy. Bryce Sloan is a tenacious scorer. Dario and Josiah are both capable of putting up double figures every night. The problem I see in Boyle is that they do not have a Chapman Bean sort of player right now.

I'm with you that you can never count Wayne out. Blevins and Stearns have each been to state twice. They are also likely the winningest program in the 12th over the last 20+ years. And Coach Woods will be back.

Blevins and Stearns can both score. And I'm a fan of Stearns' all-around game. But when looking at those averages, you have to take into account that those are for a system that encourages shot attempts - and lots of them! 20 PPG in that offense might be similar to 15 PPG at Mercer or Southwest.

I think Stearns and Bkevins will be 2 of the top 5 players in the region next year. That alone should have them in contention.

For now, I go Mercer, Southwest then Wayne. Mercer's length and athleticism are their advantages. Plus, they have 1, arguably 2, of the top 5 players in the region. Probably 3 of the top 10. Southwest has a player, maybe 2, that could be top 10 as well. Their real strength is balance and depth.
