They have a huge Oline and some very fast skilled kids.

A lot of talent on their team this year. 4 guys with D-1 offers already. Can they turn their talent into contention? The history of 6A football in this state says no.

I agree they had really good talent last year but got beat pretty good in the playoffs.

It's all about the coaching. After the D1 talent its a drop off. Its the role players that had to step up. Coaching hurt them last year in the playoffs. It might do the same this year.

They need to get better on defense.

The Generals visit Trinity on 9/4. This will be a great test for both. Trinity will be playing with a somewhat inexperienced QB. I believe Lafayette has more confirmed D1 offers. Lafayette is 1-4 versus the Shamrocks dating to 1977.

Lafayette started several sophomores and a couple freshman last year. They were a young team. Looking forward to this season to see how they have grown. Do they have any incoming freshman that could play varsity? I know there feeder school, Jessie Clark won the city championship the past 2 years.

First thing Lafayette needs to do is get their fams to come to the games. When SK played Lafayette in the playoffs. Lafayette might have had 30 people in the stands. It is kind of surprising since they have a really good football team.

Fans of the public schools in Lexington do not travel well as of late & that is a fact.

 

Where I grew up, they were there @ home & away all the way to the end of the season. I don't know why this is the way it is, but its pretty sad.

Sorry uk#1fan, operator error on my part. Fan numbers have been dwindling lately @ home as well for several of the public schools in Lexington. This time of the year many are fully imbedded into UK basketball & could care less about high school sports which is unfortunate. Guess there is just too much to do in Lexington :no:
