I've always thought it would be fun to try and visit all MLB ballparks... in my lifetime.

 

Here is the "Ultimate Road Trip Generator" that will plan your itinerary so that you can visit all 30 parks in 30 days - using 2015 schedules.

 

The parameters...

1. Visit all 30 parks in 30 days,

2. Allow enough time in each city to watch the ENTIRE game,

3. Have to drive between each location; no planes, trains, etc.

 

 

How crazy would that be? What park would you pick as your starting point? How funky would your car be at the end of the 30 days? lol

I LOVE going to new ballparks and cities but this would be too much. I think it would take the enjoyment out of it.

Try and see if you can do this either with the LEAST number of miles or the MOST number of miles.

No question, I'd be impossible after a week or less.

I'd love to do this but would rather a)fly and b) take the whole season to complete.

I'm doing Turner Field in Atlanta (last year before the Braves move, I believe) and Tropicana Field in Tampa this May.

 

If I get one or two new ones a year, I'm good with it.

I played with it a little bit using Great American and some of those trips are just horrendous. For example --- using Opening Day as your starting point --- between Game 23 and Game 24 you have 21 hours to watch the Giants @ Dodgers then drive 2,175 miles to Atlanta to catch the Nationals play the Braves.

A really neat book came out last year about two guys who made this trip. I think they were also the ones who came up with the algorithm. I enjoyed reading it but it seemed very difficult!

I just realized I read the dates wrong. You have a whole extra day to make that trip.
