Boone County 11 Bellevue 3

Featured Replies

I think the poor weather conditions had both teams making mental and physical mistakes that they would normally not make.

After 4 1/2 , Boone was on the short end of the stick, losing 3 -1. The snow changed to rain and I guess the Rebels decided it was time to get it done or freeze to death. Rebels went around the order, high lighted by a line drive rocket GRAND SLAM by A. Floyd . After going up 11 -3 and 2 outs, A Bellevue player was ejected , which caused a forfeit for Bellevue due to shortage of players.

Great comeback win for the Rebels, but felt a little sad for the way the game ended for the Tigers.

Who pitched for Boone?

Colin Teegarden throw the first three and Daniel Dahms pitched 2

Why was the player ejected?

11 players. Two are injured so there were 9 playing. When a player is ejected and that takes the team below 9 the game is ended, by rule.

By rule exception 4-4-1f a team can finish a game with eight players. An out would be called when the position of the ejected player comes back up in the batting order.

Does anyone know the situation that led to the ejection?

According to the umpire at the game, when the number falls below 9 as the result of an ejection, the game is ended. According to him the Rule Exception 4-4 no longer applies. Just telling you what I was told.

It may be possible that the exception does not apply in the case of an ejection, only an injury. Not sure though as I don't have a rulebook.

His Mouth bad language

and I believe that the player cannot play in the next game either. Does this affect the Coach when a player gets ejected?

I believe last year it was said that coaches get 3 games for an ejection and players 2 games. Can anyone confirm?

So Bellevue only has 11 players? Good grief...
