March 23, 201511 yr Got a new computer a few months ago and need to get office for it. Thinking about going with Office 365 but haven't heard anything about it. Any cons to going that route versus shelling out the $220 for the full version?

Any cons to going that route versus shelling out the $220 for the full version? I've been using that version almost since it first came out. You will always have the current version, always have support and can install it on up to 5 computers. For around $120 a year I think it's a pretty good value, and since new versions of Office come out every couple years, I think it's a wash cost wise. I'm on a subscription plan for Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, and the online subscription model for Quickbooks as well. I think you'll be seeing more of this subscription model for (what used to be expensive) software. I really see no downside, and it's easier to automatically pay $10 a month than to chunk down a few hundred $'s once every 2 or 3 years.
