Jumper_Dad Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I haven't researched it but is it true that the starting line-up in the championship game only started that one game together?

gchs_uk9 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 One hit wonders..those miners Not really. They went to the NIT in 1965 when it was still a big deal. Only 23 teams made the NCAA that year and 16 made the NIT so UTEP (sorry, Texas Western) was a legitimate Top 40 team. In 1967 they won their first game against Seattle before losing to Pacific in the Sweet 16. They also went to the NCAA Tournament in 1970. Texas Western had a pretty good run in the late-1960s.
