Loving this weather

I forgot, hot is a relative term with you. Anything over 70 and you start complaining. You should move to Alaska, or at least to the UP.
John Peters, you know, the farmer, once said "Look to the north. Keep looking. There’s nothing coming from the south".
Seeing how in Ky it's always 95 heat and 95 humidity as well in August, I'm trying to figure out where we should feel sorry for you.

I was joking, not looking for sympathy. Believe me, I'm pathetic enough without looking for pity. This post will prove that. :D

Besides, I love it here. Given humidity or shoveling snow. I'll take the humidity.

However, I hear this comparison argument all of the time. Remember I was raised up there, went to college up there, and visit the area in August quite often. It know what it is like in August in both places and I can tell you it's not the same.

Up there, you have dry days and wet days. You may go a week or more without rain. Y ou may get rain for 2 or 3 days in a row. The humidity builds then you get a rain storm that clears out the humidity and lowers the temperatures. You will have days where the low will be in the low 50s in August.

Here's the difference between that and the tropical environment that is the Tampa Bay Area.

It rains every day in August. May not get an inch all day, but it's enough to keep the humidity up. There are no days without sun. The sun comes out and turns all the puddles to steam, the clouds return and it rains again. Therefore, the humidity is ceaseless. The temperature never goes below 70 at night, it generally is around 80 after dark. We won't see 60s at night, much less 50s, until November or December.

Steamy and hot. Not my favorite time of the year, but I can think of worse.

As a kid, I used to spend a couple of weeks a year a little south of you in the Naples/Ft. Myers area. While it was hot and did rain daily, usually around 3pm, there was always a nice breeze coming off the water due to the flat ground. Maybe its because I was a kid and it didn't bother me that much back then, but I always enjoyed the weather down there.

Weather is great! Now it's time for the spring harvest.
