Ben just picked up a Bellarmine offer.

Nice option for Ben.

Ben visited EKU today.

Matt Wilson from Campbell County is on the visit as well.

Puts a smile on my face when 2 young men I coached at aau age 10 are going on D1 visits.

Not as big of a smile as I have when I look at hat picture of your 3 boys.

Do Ben and John Brannen know each other well outside of recruiting? Is there a relationship there that pre-dates John getting the NKU gig?

Ben wasn't coached by Grant. John has not been in the area much in the past 10 years. I don't know the answer for fact, but I would imagine it would have been nominal to non-existence. Biggest thing going to Ben going to NKU would be Drew McDonald, IMO.

What is the relationship between John & Grant Brannen?

Not based on a handful of posts last basketball season. :sssh:

I assumed so but wasn't sure, thanks.

Grant was at NCC Weyer's freshman year, and he did play up that year on the JV. So I'd say Grant did coach and have relationship with Weyer that year.

I have no idea if any of that means a thing when it comes to NKU's offer, or the recruiting process in general. But, I'll be John and Grant have had or will have a conversation about the kid sooner rather than later.

My understanding that the kid does not have an offer from NKU upon the change in coach. Can anyone confirm or deny?
