Here's the latest article in the AP saga. They even went as far as to interview his dad about his "feelings" about returning.

Adrian Peterson won't rule out Vikings return, dad says - NFL.com

Personally, if I'm the Vikings, I'd cut him. Yep, I know he's the best in the game. He's better than Bell, better than Murray. And I'd cut bait with him and end him holding us hostage if I'm the Vikes. I'd be curious what getslow thinks about this drama.

^ Bye Felicia.

I'm ready to move on. Let him sort himself out. His agent is really heated about the whole thing but I'm curious about what the going rate is for an aging back with an attitude problem that beats his kids...

He apologized for the incident that caused all the problems and to an extent, I'm even sympathetic to the guy regarding the firestorm that surrounded an incident of parental discipline (but he seriously shouldn't have done that)...

...but for him and his agent to turn around and suggest that it's the Vikings organization's fault he lost $10 million in wages and endorsements is absurd. He may have an argument for some of his wages (and as a pro-union guy, I'm probably sympathetic to that as well) but the losing the endorsements was his own darn fault and I'm sorry it cost him but, come on...

I always thought AP had it together but after the incident, how he's handled things off the field, and the way he talks in interviews and such I've sort of felt like the guy just gives me the creeps. Anyone else get that vibe or is it just me?

Well, the only reason I'd like to see him back is for the benefit of Teddy. However, they can gain some cap relief and continue to change that roster through the draft. But in the event he is out of Minnesota, what a FA storm that would be. And if Murray isn't resigned in Big D, you can bet AP is on that radar. And it couldn't be worse for the market value of Murray, IMO.

No doubt about that. The run game was sorely missing to take some of the pressure off Bridgewater in those games last year.

I'll be curious to see what Zimmer and the Rick Spielman, the GM, will favor come draft time given Zimmer's defensive background. If Peterson leaves, they're going to need to something there, but there are also serious offensive line issues that get at the heart of the run game as well.

Most draft experts think Minn will take either Scherff (the guard from Iowa) or Clemmings (the OT from Pitt) and both are pretty darn good. The RB crop this year is so-so.

I've felt that way from some time. He is an odd duck.

If I am the Vikes, I own him for three years. I'd force his hand and make him either report (when suspension is over) or not play. The Bengals called Palmer's bluff, he retired and they got a sweetheart deal with the Raiders in October for a trade. I'd do the same thing. I would not cut ties without compensation of his worth. There may not be a Raiders crazy enough to what they did, but there will be some team that will bite.

The Vikes hold all the cards, play them.

As long as Jerry Jones is alive, AP has an out, IMO.
