What do you think the Reds should do with Johnny Cueto? He's been with the team for a solid amount of time, not sure how long. I know that he started the game that I went to on our senior skip day in high school, which was in 2008. I really like him as a Red, but would it be better for the organization to deal him?
February 22, 201511 yr Love Johnny. I think he's got plenty of good years left. I fear the Reds sign him to an extension that comes back to bite them, but that's always a risk with big contracts. Some work out, most don't. As far as dealing him? I think that may be a mistake. They just need to be careful with the contract they are most likely about to give him.
February 22, 201511 yr I didn't read the article but here are my thoughts. I didn't like the Latos deal and I don't think they should trade Cueto.... now. If the Reds had Latos, they could compete this year. A rotation of Cueto, Latos, Bailey, Leake and whoever would be top notch. Then it comes down to how the season goes for the hitters. By August, you know where you stand and what your chances are. If you have no real shot at making noise in the post season, then you trade them. We could get "Descalfani and Wallach" for Latos any time. We want prospects for Cueto or a young pitcher, that can happen any time. Now, I will read the article and find out why I am wrong. :facepalm: :lol2:
