February 21, 201511 yr No that's the area that may see the most ice accumulation. Whew!!! I don't want to see that. Went through power outages cause by ice and snow for over a week back in January '98. Still remember heating food on a kerosene heater.
February 21, 201511 yr The snow to freezing rain/sleet line appears to be around Owensboro per the intellicast radar...as of midnight! Intellicast - Current Radar in Bowling Green, Kentucky Snow is moving into suburbs of Louisville...be safe folks!!!
February 21, 201511 yr It's a mess out in Nelson County right now. Mostly icing. I had to run up to the top of the driveway to get my wipers off the window. Good thing I didn't wait any longer.
February 21, 201511 yr Bad news to report...first "drops" have reached NKY. This does not bode well for the tri-state. We could see significant icing and power outages before this storm passes due to downed limbs on wires. Set your alarms on your cell phones for morning wake ups! Could be a long next 24 hours. Hoping the sleet and snow win out and the freezing rain stops!
February 21, 201511 yr Good news to report from Erlanger. Freezing rain mixed with sleet at around 2am and now has completely changed over to snow as of 2:25am. Let it snow...and remain snow! :thumb:

February 21, 201511 yr Snow has picked up in intensity within the last hour. Pushing 4" after 3 hours of snowfall. Radar looks pretty impressive with a lot of heavier snowfall rates pushing up from the Louisville area. We may see closer to 8-9" vs the 3-6" predicted earlier. Current airport temp is 22 degrees. Allow for extra time if you have to travel this morning and be safe! :thumb:
February 21, 201511 yr Approaching 6:30 and we have another inch. Looking like 2-3 more hours of snow and then we'll get into a dry slot. Should calm down for a few hours and then we will see more precip in the afternoon. Supposedly it will be rain if temps get up to 35. I'll check in one last time before 7a. Again use a lot of caution on the roads. News just showed the cut-in-the-hill and it's a parking lot. Spoke to a few 1st shifters who just made it in and they said the roads are treacherous. Just stay home, relax, and avoid travel if at all possible.
