Looks like the games are basically a wrap now and with everyone snowed in at home by the computer, thought it'd be a good time to post these and see what everyone thought.

You missed Tanner Johnson on this list.

After a thorough studying of the stats, it's hard to see how Tanner was not player of the year. He averaged almost 22 PPG while shooting 53.5% from the field (40.5% from 3) and leading his team in rebounding while losing only 4 games to teams in the state of KY.

While I openly admit my bias towards Tanner, the purpose of the thread is to discuss statistics.

Statistically, Tanner has had a great year.

Thanks for pointing that out. Agree that it was tough between Johnson and Rose. I think that Johnson being in a bit of a slump late kind of hurt, though I know he broke out of it in a big way.

He and Rose were definitely back and forth in a few categories. Rose edged him in points and rebounds, but Johnson shot much more effective percentages from the field and three while Rose won at the free throw line.

Hard to go wrong with either kid really, and both are great players.

That is the absolute truth!

Put #16 on your watch list!

Agreed on Stewart! Liked him a lot as a 7th grader last year. Bright future for sure!

Great work, Joker!

Why is Henry Clay not included?

Here are their season stats:

http://wlstats.net/2014-15_bkb/hc.b/HC.b.14.15.season.pdf

Thanks, much appreciated.

I used the KHSAA.org link where it has all of their stats put together and accessible under one click and it gives you a breakdown without you having to go in and do game by game averages. I have a ton of work stuff going on right now and honestly don't have the time to go through and calculate all of Henry Clay's statistics game-by-game for each kid, especially when they can't just do like every other team in the region does and submit their reports to the KHSAA's service as they are required to do.

Not trying to sound mean or anything, but that's a whole lot of work to do and something I kind of feel is a situation where the onus shouldn't be on me.

Honestly, if I had more time than I do right now, I'd go through and try to see Tisdale's average or some of the obvious ones, but right now having that kind of time is just a luxury I don't have.

Here’s some honest statistical analysis.

While everyone agrees Johnson is one of the better players in the 11th, it is disingenuous to puff his resume with “leading his team in rebounds.” He leads with only 4.5 rebounds per game, which is hardly impressive for a college-bound forward who is typically 3-5 inches taller than his matchup, and is more an indictment of the front line at Catholic where the 4 and 5 are in the 3 rpg range. Matt Rose, who scored more and hit a much higher percentage of free throws (while making about twice as many as Johnson even attempted), also has over 200 rebounds to Johnson’s 112. Joker said Rose “edged him out” on rebounding, also an unfairly conservative statement. Rose was truly “head and shoulders” above Johnson as a rebounder, evidenced by the 43-19 rebounding margin when LCA beat LexCath last week.

Good for Johnson for being in the discussion, but give Rose his due as a deserving winner of player of the year, with clear advantage in the stats.
