Featured Replies

OK, the computer ate my homework!!!

I was just finishing the 8th region recap (at 2 am) when everything disapp

eared.

Too late to start over, but here's the big games for this week in the 8th:

Tuesday 2/10/15

Owen County at North Oldham - two of the region's best go at it: Carson Williams of Owen Co and Jonathan Henry of North. Live video: The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN

Simon Kenton vs. Campbell County

Shelby County at Spencer County - #3 seed in the 30th on the line.

Thursday, 2/12/15

Owen County vs. Anderson County - again, two top players in action; Carson Williams (OC) vs. Austin Cummins (AC)

Friday, 2/13/15

Oldham County vs. Christian Academy of Louisville - The Pegasus Sports Network - PSN

Collins at DeSales

Anderson Couny at Simon Kenton

Hasn't this happened to you a couple of times?

Looks like Shelby/Spencer is biggest game of the week. Shelby should win this one hands down. Loser gets Collins first round and winner gets Cummins. Mike, do you have any of the district dates and locations?

31st District is posted at KHSAA.org

All games at Eminence

Seeds in parentheses

Monday, February 23rd: (4)Henry Co vs (5) Carroll Co

Wednesday, February 25th: Henry-Carroll winner vs (1) Owen Co

Thursday, February 26th: (2) Eminence vs (3) Gallatin Co

Saturday, February 28th: Wednesday's winner vs Thursday's winner

Don't know the dates, but pretty sure the 32nd is at Simon Kenton and the matchups are these:

(1) Simon Kenton vs (4) Williamstown

(2) Grant Co vs (3) Walton-Verona

30th District is at Spencer County. As ColonelMike said, the seedings are set after tonights Shelby/Spencer game.

29th District is @ South Oldham High School.

February 24th: North Oldham vs. South Oldham (1 vs. 4 seed) 7:30 pm

February 25th: Oldham County vs. Trimble County (2 vs. 3 seed) 7:30 pm

Spencer takes down Shelby 77-59 so it'll be Collins/Shelby and Anderson/Spencer in District 30 action

The KHSAA Scoreboard has that opposite.

Shelby won. District pairings are:

29- North/South Oldham and Oldham Co/Trimble

30- Collins/Spencer and Shelby/Anderson

31- Henry/Carroll, then Owen/Henry-Carroll winner and Eminence/Gallatin

32- SK/W-town and Grant/W-V

The KHSAA Scoreboard has that opposite.

My bad. I used the score reported on the Courier-Journal website.

I know, I know.......I hate see anything hosted at Spencer and Eminence. Just think they are too small to host some of these games. Yeah they get a little extra money for hosting but with more room you sell more seats...Doesn't set well with me in others to. JMO.

I hate that we have to play one game a night Monday-Saturday when it is held at Spencer County. I have no idea what they plan to do if weather cancels one of the nights. I understand the money issue, but there has to be some way to let the district rotate through Anderson, Collins, and Shelby where the gyms are actually big enough to host and still allow Spencer to make some money. Most years neither of their teams advance past the first night anyway, so it's not like home court advantage is a big deal. I think having it there hurts the crowds too, because fans don't want to have to drive back and forth six nights a week just to see one game at a time. Plus I'm sure Spencer County staff and administrators don't want to spend every night all week long running the tournament anyway.

I'm not really sure what is done with the money from the district tournament, but couldn't we just have the other three schools host and have them give 1/3 of the money to Spencer each year?

By the way, Spencer County has always been a great host and I don't mean to bash them, I just don't think it's ideal to have one game a night over the entire week. I think a bigger venue would benefit all schools, including Spencer County.

Anderson getting hot at just the right time. They just might make things interesting.
