Hey gchs...have you seen GC this year? I know you and I would love to see them take this region, but it sure would be hard to pick them since they've never won a region. I know GC is VERY experienced and deep. Can't wait to watch them this year.

 

I haven't. I went up to the opener against Casey and watched from the parking lot for a few minutes, but they were up 18-2 so I headed home.

Southwestern picked up a couple of big wins over the weekend: 11-1 over Henry Clary and 9-8 over Trinity.

 

Somerset picked up a nice 8-5 win over Tates Creek.

I think West Jessamine and SW are in a class of their own this year in the 12th.

 

West cruised past Garrard 10-0 on Friday and have given up just two runs in three games, Southwestern already has a great win over Trinity.

Trinity is a good win but they are not the trinity type team I expected. No better than west or mercer etc. Sw sucked it up as bad as u could in the 4th. 4 errors led to almost all trinity runs. To get behind that bad and come back against a quality team is big though.

If baseball was best of 3 I would put my money on southwestern. Solid hitting from top to bottom. 4 good high schools arms. But it ain't best if 3 so who knows. Still say Sw is best team

The big show starts Monday. Peavler (mercer) selected as 12th region player of the year. I still think west jessamine is the team to beat. I'm a little disappointed in garrard county although they are a dangerous team and should come out of the bottom half of the bracket. Should be an epic battle between west and southwestern. Congrats to Peavler. Who do you think wins this one?

Disappointed? They were 20-12 and won the district. Not a bad year.

Just thought they would be more like 26-6 or 28-4. Not to take anything away from them they still are having a good year. They could easily win the region. Their first two games should be a cake walk.

I was thinking the same thing. It will be a very tough matchup for both teams - no cakewalks either way.

Mercer is a good team that has over achieved all year. They can't beat west and only start three seniors and two juniors they have been carried by Peavler all year. Even though he is the region player of the year(deservedly I might add). They had 6or8 errors last night. They are young and there true colors will show tonight. Garrard should be playing to their best potential tonight. Should be a good one if Yates is on. 6-4 Garrard.

Looks shaky right now. I suspect they'll do all they can to play tonight since I'm pretty sure graduations will make scheduling tough this weekend.
