There is no doubt in my mind he murdered Lloyd. Don't think they'll be able to convict him of murder though.

Now the other murder trial is where I think he catches it.

Don't know what the outcome is, but I think that given everything, he's guilty of at least being an accomplice to murder or conspiracy to commit murder. Don't know if he's actually the guy who pulled the trigger or not, so it's hard to say if he's going to be guilty of murder itself like we'd think of it. He's definitely behaving exactly like you'd think someone who was guilty and dead to rights though, but like you said JD, it's not the slam dunk that it seemed given the way they've already excluded some stuff. This whole thing is going to be a mess.

I'll say Guilty of a lesser charger. Less than three years jail time.

I don't see any way at all that he gets off on things like obstruction of justice and some smaller ones like that, but something doesn't give me the greatest feeling about justice being served in terms of him being found guilty on some of the worst charges that he's probably actually guilty of.

I can see the defense team throwing a lot of junk science in on the cell phone positioning that the confuses the jury. IMO, there's already been some things brought up during discovery about how they were going to present the evidence that puts him at the scene. IIRC, the investigation puts him at the scene based on his cellphone being within 'x' range of 'x tower' and 'y' range of 'y' tower, etc.

Here were some updates going into the trial:

Last one was a pretty significant defense win. His wife & mother get to be in the courtroom during all of the testimony.

Usually witnesses are excluded from other parts of the trial (that way they don't know what other witnesses have said, people who might fabricate a story have a harder time "keeping their stories straight", etc.).

Not going to apply to the mother and wife here, as they'll be able to sit in the court room and hear for themselves what each and every witness has to say, etc.

If nothing else, given how some of the people who've been persons of interest have come up dead or missing, the wife and mother being in the courtroom the whole time is not really something you love hearing if you are the prosecution.

Gun was never found, nor was the gun in his hand on video at his home. IMO unless one of the co-defendants confesses he's got a shot at getting off.

Text by Loyd saying that he was "With NFL" moments before he died has been suppressed as well.

They have a joint with his and the victims DNA on it next to the body, they have a footprint next to the body that matches Hernandez and video of him and the other two defendants driving back from the site shortly after the presumed TOD. Unfortunately, it's all circumstantial. No way he isn't at least convicted as an accomplice IMO.

Didn't know they had the joint next to the body. That's definitely stupid to leave something like that there. Same for the footprint.

Here's an update from ESPN:

Aaron Hernandez trial for murder of Odin Lloyd begins - ESPN Boston

Worst murderer ever. How do you leave an unlit joint with your DNA on it at a crime scene? "I don't feel like getting high anymore. I think ill just leave this jay next to the body." Idiot

I can already see the mis-trial in this one.

Judge has agreed to let the jurors watch the Super Bowl, but with the warning that they must not discuss the case with anyone at any parties they attend and that they have to leave the room if Hernandez is mentioned during the game.

Even though I think he is completely guilty, I picked that he will be guilty of lesser charges. For some reason I just have a feeling he will find away to get out of the serious charges. He will do some time, however he will find his way back on the streets after a few years and that is a scary thought.

Looks like they'll be light a juror who was previously with them.
