Good but must win for the Norse. Bigs played well again tonight and kept them in top half of conference which would get them a home conference tournament game.

Even better when you get free pizza when they score 80 points with a victory.:taz:

So are the Norse eligible for post season play now?

Only conference post season play.

I believe that even if they win their conference tournament, they are not eligible to go on and play in the NCAA tournament yet. I think the team they'd beat in the conference championship would advance in their place.

That's my understanding as well. Which is pretty dumb really. Why allow them to play in the tournament if they can't advance to the dance?

then whats the point of even playing right now? To me, thats taking away from all the players and coaches. All the hard work they put in only to be told they can't do anything with it. IF they make it to their conference championship, whoever they play can go in with the mindset that regardless we're in, so lets not get hurt and realistically doesn't even have to try. When will they become NCAA eligible?

Next season, I believe.

If the other team wanted to do that, I'm sure NKU would still be happy to claim that they are Conference Champions.

I quit trying to understand the NCAA a long time ago with how and why they do certain things.

I do know that being able to play a full schedule and play in the conference post season early were some reasons that they joined the Atlantic Sun.

Next season, I believe.

Next season is still probational period, it is the last one however. NKU can qualify for the NIT if they win their conference and maybe even just the conference tournament. It' just the NCAA tournament they're not eligible for.
