Anyone still think there's no chance my boys get to 20 wins???

It'll be close. They're better than I anticipated them being, but still struggle away from Assembly.

Their season really hinges on their performance in 4 road games IMO. Illinois, Purdue, Rutgers, and Northwestern. They have to do better than 2-2 in those 4 IMO.

Road record:

Loss @ #4 Louisville

Win @ #23 Butler

Loss @ Georgetown in OT, very close game.

Win @ Nebraska

Loss @ Michigan State

They're better at home, sure, who isn't. Too early to say based on those results though that they struggle away from Bloomington.

I'm not saying they're a Top 10 team, but they are a Top 25 team, right now. And they are definitely not the 9th best team in the Big Ten, as predicted.

I had them 6th - 8th in the Big 10....and I still think that is where they end up.

Respectfully, no way are they a Top 25 team right now.

I actually don't think they get to 20 wins, but they'll be darn close. With that said, I don't think 20 wins gets them in this year. Their RPI is going to be in the 50's or 60's, minus any HUGE and unexpected road win, and that won't cut it.

They are going to beat Penn State tomorrow night, but they could easily lose 5 of their next 6 after that, so let's pump our brakes a little. This Ohio State win is a good one for them, but in my opinion, it doesn't change the trajectory of their season any. Now beat them in Columbus on January 25th and I think the conversation could change.

SMU and Butler.

Still, 3-1 vs Top 25.

They were all vastly overrated in the early rankings. That's my issue with the whole "well we beat so and so" argument that fans (of all schools) like to bring up when trying to prove they are worthy of a top 25 ranking at this point in the season.

The truth is, the early season rankings are pretty much garbage. At the midway point of the season, they still aren't right, but they are at least not absurd, like they are in the preseason.

If you want to hang your hat on a top 25 ranking because you beat some teams that never should have been ranked in the first place, then go right ahead if it makes you feel better. I watch a lot of basketball and I have seen nothing impressive out of any of those three teams though. Do I think Indiana is better than expected? Absolutely. Do I think they are a top 25 team? Not at all. It's possible that they make the tournament, however they will likely be a bubble team, not a top 25 contender.

Curious which games you've seen?
