Holmes 96 Scott 92

I'd be concerned about my team's lack of defense.

Defense is good. Just needs yalented big man and this team would be complete.

Were you at the game?

I was at the game and there wasn't a lot of defense played on either side. Straight line drives to the basket with no help were the norm and not the exception. Both teams shot well from the perimeter but most were wide open looks. I have seen Holmes 2 times and Scott 3 times this season and am pretty comfortable saying that each is defensively challenged.

1. No.

2. Why do I need to be at the game to know defense was a challenge when 188 points were scored in 32 minutes?

I realize that's a heck of a lot of points scored but I never once felt like it was a poorly defensive game. I often found myself in disbelief that these kids kept making big shot after big shot. I can tell you right now there was nothing easy about Bolden's 40pts. He worked and earned every single one of them. To think otherwise would discredit his effort. The kid was amazing that night as were other players on both teams.

I wasn't at the game but must admit my first knee-jerk thought was much like others who wondered where the "D" was in this game.

I don't doubt that it must've been a shooter's clinic and probably a game for the ages not to be missed.

It's understandable how those not in attendance could assume that it was "First team to 100 wins".

Their meeting in the Lloyd Inv. also produced a ton of points by both teams. Perhaps the chemistry of these two teams facing off ignites a lightening fast paced game that makes even the fans have a hard time to catch their breath.

No matter what the reasons for such a high scoring affair, I have to believe that it was a blast to observe. Sorry that I missed it.

1. No.

Much rather watch this type of game compared to scores of 32-30 because that is just pitiful that boys' varsity team can't score more than 32 in a game.

Agreed. Sometimes a low score doesn't mean good D. It often means bad O.

I'll still stick to my guess that there wasn't strong D played in this game.

Oh..I agree with you that there probably was no D, and also agree with the bold part.
