I've heard that complaint many times. I've only been there in person once and don't recall any grievances with the refs. I'll be back this February. I'll let you know. :D

?????? BC23 I like your style. Let them talk smack, it will all play out in the end!

Very very true. And that fact was not lost on the team. :D

As a scoreboard operator all I can say is that I know his struggle.

I will say that we took and missed a ton of jump shots tonight. It also seemed like the only person who was able to draw fouls off of penetration was Hinkle when he penetrated. Robbins, Bean, Tyler and Bell had a hard time getting calls in the paint tonight. It makes it easier to settle for jumpers when they should keep attacking the basket.

This would explain taking so many jump shots. There are way too many officials who appear to favor teams from their region when playing teams from other regions. Do they really need to stay in the favor of the coaches in the region they officiate?

Fouls occur in many different aspects of a game, not just on field goal attempts: handling the ball, rebounding, offensive fouls, ect. It also doesn't mean that an official(s) didn't call against a particular player. As referenced earlier, it sounds like Elkins was benched with 3 fouls. Boyle is an entirely different defensive team with him out of the game as the number of blocks would highlight.

Again, I wasn't at the game, and I'm not saying the officiating was bad. I'm simply pointing out a flawed logic in a correlation between equal foul shots and good officiating.

Just going by the scoring by quarter, Elkins being out in the 3rd quarter seemed to have a very big effect on this game.

That's a good question. I think the best refs don't worry about staying in a coach's favor. I've seen refs and coaches cut up and crack jokes before the game and I've seen the same coach and refs have heated discussions during the game and then after the game all is well again. Gotta leave it on the court. Everybody does except for us fans. We can come on here and talk about it. :lol2: :lol2:

Agreed. The whole game changed and it changed quickly. Very smart and great coaching by a robin to attack the basket.

The way I've heard you tell it the referees don't make a difference. How embarrassing! A last second three to beat a team like Corbin?

First said : "Boyle will be way too athletic for this team. They will win, easily, by 15 (+)."

Truth said: "Boyle by double figures, should win easy"

BL6 says some people eating some crow!

So your version of me eating crow is me correctly picking the winner (yeah Boyle still won) yet missing on the margin? Reaching a tad? What I failed to consider was where this was played and the impact that would have. I will go so far to say that if they played at Boyle tomorrow it'd be a 20+ point game. Although it could be more like 17 in which case I'd have to eat crow.

It didn't look to me like the refs took it. Free throws about even. And yeah I figured Boyle would handle them easy. Clay did on corbin s home floor

Clay didn't handle Corbin easily. It was a two-point game with under a minute left.
