Former Scott Eagle Kellen Smith

Kellen is the starting PG for Saginaw Valley. He is 9th in the country in D2 in assists per game at 6.7 .

Great kid and a hard worker. Congrats Kellen!

They played Tuesday at Ohio Dominican, I was hoping to go see him, but had other duties.

He is averaging a team leading 28.5 minutes per game and scoring 4 PPG. That's a kid that knows his role.

I think he survived a coaching change a couple of years ago when a new coach came in and did not renew many of the Scholarships, but loved the play and leadership of Kellen.

SVSU is currently 4-2 with both loses coming to ranked teams.

Great player I really enjoyed watching him play in HS. One of the best pure PG's I have ever seen at the HS level.

One of the best crossovers ever.

Clutch when they needed him!

Great handles and even better court vision. Glad to see him excelling at the next level.

Always glad to see our 10th region kids go on to the next level and do well. :thumb:

I loved the kids' game but hated watching him destroy my Neers.

Kellen Smith was recently named to the All GLIAC Defensive Team for 2014-2015 season.

He also set the record for most assists in a season at SVSU. Broke a record that had stood since 1984-1985.

SVSU had a record breaking season that saw them narrowly miss the NCAA D2 tourney and spent a couple of weeks ranked in the top 25. They improved from a 5 win team in conference last season to a record of 16-6 in the GLIAC and 21-9 overall. They set a record for most conference wins since SVSU joined NCAA D2 from the NAIA.

Kellen will have one more year at SVSU.
