Of course. CCH dominates St Henry in each and every other sport in any given year, but this was the one time that St Henry had a trump card to play.

CVH must be a pretty good defender. I just heard he has held opposing players to 2 shot attempts and ZERO points in first 2 games.

 

He is a good defender, but the St Henry game was a gimmick defense. He only had eyes for the guy he was guarding... he played ZERO help defense. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a fantastic defender, but the reason he is holding the players he is guarding down like that is because its a gimmick defense to take that specific player out of the game.

That face-guarding tactic occurs at nearly every game to take away the other team's most dangerous player. Started with Beetle last year. Gilbert got it in the State Title game in stretches. You'll often see Massie face-guarding the same player when he is in the game.

I love it. I'm a big fan of "junk" defenses (I don't like the term "junk" though, because I do not think they are junk). It puts the offense of the other team in a situation they are not used to, keeps them off balance. Ruthsatz' coaching helps to put CovCath in a position to win night in and night out.
