Grant Co. won it's season opener against Pendleton Co. 72-63. The thing that makes this especially satisfying is due to 5 players (including 3 of the 5 starters) for the Lady Braves suspended for the game for violating team rules. The starting lineup consisted of 1 senior, 1 sophomore, 2 freshmen, and a 7th grader. Freshman Shelby Harmeyer led all scorers with 28 pts. Senior Macy Wright added 14. Harmeyer also had a double-double with 11 boards. Grant JV also won paced by 11 pts. by 7th grader Abby West.

Congrats to Coach West and his team on a good win.

LadyCats still in rebuilding mode. The offseason was unkind, as it brought 4 knee injuries...2 of which were to players expected to start of play a lot of minutes. Pendleton County was also without Head Coach Scott Collins as he continues to recover from gall bladder surgery performed on Thanksgiving Day. Good things will come from this group...just be patient.

Congarts to the LadyBraves and Coach West. Very solid games from Harmeyer and Wright. Braves need these 2 to get it done every time they hit the floor!
