Sadly tailgate season is over.

Saturday was was the final CWF tailgate of the season. The high in Champaign was only 32 degrees, but the jambalaya was hot and the apple pie, peach, lemon drop, and strawberry moonshine was flowing so it all was good.

Big crock of jambalaya.

Another crock of Cajun marinated chicken breasts and smoked sausages.

Grilled Cajun polenta with cheese and jalapenos.

A little shine

The Buckeyes come to Champaign next year, so any of you Buck fans (or non Buck fans) are welcome to some hospitality.

I'm with ya, love to tailgate had a grill made to fit my hitch on truck there wasn't a man who could walk by without stopping to look at it all with ideas on how to improve it. LOL

With that amount of shine, I'm surprised anyone made it out of the parking and into the stadium.

We're usually about 50 at our tailgate.

And of course, not everyone makes it in to the game.

I'm not sure what we're doing for the UCF game, yet, but you gave me some ideas. The guy with the smoker, moved to West Palm, and he hasn't brought the smoker with him the past 2 games. The game is the day after Thanksgiving, so there may be turkey and ham in the mix somewhere.

cwf, I don't know when you plan to complete your move down here, but the Illini play USF here in 2017. The Bulls go to Champagne in 18.

The UCF/USF game is set for noon (ESPN2). I hate ESPN.

Mrs. S wants to make sausage gravy and homemade biscuits. I'll take the Coleman stove and both my grills to cook up the eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and bacon. I'll have to round up some cheap champagne for the mimosas.

I'm more of a Bloody Mary person myself.

Have a real good breakfast casserole I make all the time that every body loves.

1 lb bacon - dice and cook crisp

1 lb hot sausage - cook and crumble

1 medium onion - diced cook with the sausage

1 1/2 cups frozen hash browns

1 cup Bisquick or pancake mix

8 eggs

2 cups half & half

I cook the bacon, sausage, and onions up the night before.

In the morning mix the meats and the hash browns together and put in a butter 9x13 pan.

Mix the eggs, half & half, and Bisquick together, and pour over the meats and hash browns.

Bake for 30-35 minutes @ 350.

We normally do casseroles. The problem is, we have 30 coming for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. After cooking and cleaning for that, we'll be worn out. It's easier to make biscuits when making the dinner, and whip up the gravy before we head to the tailgate. Besides, Mrs. S's sausage gravy is to die for.
